Court Bios:

Queen Mystle Crossland - I will be a senior for the 2008-09 school year. I am actively involved in school activities and have accomplished great things during my three years of high school. Currently, I am the cheerleading captain, NHS treasurer and an honor student.

Since childhood it has been my dream to be Cowboy Homecoming Queen. As Queen I would represent my community as a positive role model, performing my civic duties and encouraging my peers to do the same. I would be honored to have the chance to represent Pleasanton as their Queen.

Princess April Antu - I’m 16-years old and a junior at Pleasanton High School. My parents are Paul and Nancy Antu. I was born and raised in Pleasanton. I would be honored to represent Pleasanton as your next queen. I am in LEAD, Student Council and Pacesetters. I am currently Colonel of Pacesetters for the 2008-09 year.

I attend St. Andrew’s Catholic Church, where I help with the Picnic, Turkey Dinner, Teen ACTS Team and altar server for three years. I dance with Jourdanton Hermann Sons and the Spurs Silver Dancers Clinic. Thank you for your support.

Princess Heather Arnott - Hello, I’m the daughter of John and Vicky Arnott. My grandparents are Gordon and Nancy Pappenfuss and the late Charles and Lil Arnott. A native of Pleasanton and a 2009 Pleasanton High School graudate, I attend Cowby Fellowship.

As a member of 4-H, I enjoy showing steers and competing in barrel races. I am a member of NBHA and donate time to Equitherapy. I am proud of the western heritage that this town represents and that the community takes time every year to recognize this. It would be an honor to participate in this year’s Cowboy Homecoming Court!

Princess Vanessa Rutherford - I will be a junior at Pleasanton High School next year. It would be an honor to be your next Pleasanton Cowboy Homecoming Queen in keeping with family tradition. I am a fourth generation offspring of a “Working Cowboy” family. My great-grandfather- Ford Rutherford (deceased), Grandpa-Jack and Dad-Robert are all former Cowboys of the Year. I am actively involved in 4-H as an Ambassador and County Council officer. I have chaired and organized the 4-H parade float, Salad Supper and team leader for Relay For Life. Thanks for your vote!

Princess Erica Trevino - I am a junior at Pleasanton High School and involved in several sports, volleyball, softball and power lifting. My parents are Ernest and Lisa Trevino; granddaughter of Connie Trevino and the late Henry Trevino III; Gary and Judy Greene, all of Pleasanton. Since I was a little girl I have enjoyed Cowboy Homecoming and what it stands for “The true Birthplace of the Cowboy.” My family settled here in the 1880s so I have deep roots in Atascosa County. I believe that representing the community of Pleasanton will be a great opportunity, experience and privilege.

Duchess Haley Sommers - I am a dedicated student, with a 3.5 GPA. I participate in many extra-curricular activities. I’m a member of FFA and have shown in the last three Atasccosa Stock Shows. I am a proud member of LEAD, National Honor Society, marching and concert band, Christ For Life, Girl Scouts, my church youth group and Student Council. If I am elected Cowboy Homecoming Queen, I will do everything I can to represent Pleasanton with pride, displaying all the characteristics of the hometown I am so proud of!
